    About the Research Project


    The research project ‘The Nokia Design archive – exploring unseen concepts of design and opportunities of design-driven transformation and change’ is funded by the Academy of Finland and lasts until 2025. The project investigates the role of design within Nokia from 1995-2015 utilizing a globally unique and previously unseen archive consisting of thousands of concepts, process models, documents, and videos. The project aims to provide a deeper understanding of the processes behind design’s role in creating change.


    Job Description


    We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our cross-disciplinary research project with a fixed-term one-year contract. Our research group is currently strong in the disciplines of design practice, strategy, and history, and we want to build our competencies in the areas of organizational behavior and management. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background in organizational behavior, strategy, management, or similar, with an interest in practices related to design. The main role is to research, write, and publish papers in the academic field and actively participate in an exchange of ideas between the members of the team.


    Responsibilities


    • Conduct research in the areas of organizational behavior, strategy, and management.
    • Write and publish papers in academic journals.
    • Actively participate in the exchange of ideas between the members of the team.
    • Bring creativity and academic rigor into the outputs of the project.

    Team


    Our team currently consists of researchers with backgrounds in design, history, culture, leadership, and strategy. There is also an active and easily reachable international advisory board with strong knowledge and experience in a broad set of disciplines.


    Requirements


    • Relevant doctoral degree in organizational behavior, strategy, or management.
    • Experience in conducting research relevant to organizational behavior, strategy, or management.
    • A track record of successful publishing in academic journals.
    • Excellent oral and written English skills.

    Preferred Qualifications


    • Experience in cross-disciplinary research.
    • Motivation to expand academic expertise.
    • Interest in design practices.
